A Yu-Gi-Oh GX Fanfic Part 1
Judai didn’t know how long he was running for. He couldn’t hear the footprints darting across the concrete pavement behind him anymore, but he still shouldn’t take any chances. He only barely got away this time and if they found him another time things would probably get even more difficult…. ‘I have to get away! I must keep going!’ He thought. Yes, he has realized that he could be overdoing it, but also needed that his very life literally depended on it. ‘Judai,’ He suddenly heard a voice in his head. ‘You can stop running now. I think we lost them.’ ‘Yeah, probably….’ Judai talked back to Yubel in his head. ‘But still….’‘Judai….’ The voice appeared again, a little more sympathetic than before. ‘They might be able to find us if you keep running like this…. I’m pretty sure that they would like you to hear your footsteps and it’s not a good idea for you to stay out of the open. You need to find a place to hide at now.’Judai started to slow down, finally seeing that Yubel was right. He quickly slipped into a dark alley and hid behind a dumpster and slid down the wall until he sat on the ground. Judai couldn’t help but breathe heavily due to exhaustion. Yubel then appeared like a ghost by his side, her arms folded but they still looked slightly worried. Luckily, it was nighttime for them, so it makes things harder to see Judai and therefore there was a good chance that they wouldn’t see him. That still wasn’t good enough for Yubel though. ‘I must admit that this place is good enough… for now,’ is what the duel spirit said. ‘But you need to find a better place sooner than later.’ “And if you have any good ideas of where we could hide better, then I’m all ears,” Judai snapped, but he his voice low. Yubel looked away from Judai and didn’t say anything. They looked a bit embarrassed. “Yeah, that’s what I thought,” Judai scoffed in frustration. ‘Kuri, kuri!’ Judai gasped and looked down at his deck and saw his duel monster, Winged Kuriboh, pop out of it. “What is it, partner?” Judai asked. ‘Kuri, kuri!’ Winged Kuriboh just said that before sprinting out of the alley. “Hey, where you’re going, partner,” Judai struggled to keep is voice low down. ‘I think he wants us to follow him,’ Yubel said. Judai stood up and looked at the other duel spirit before looking back at Winged Kuriboh who was waiting at the end of the alleyway. “Maybe, he knows a better place to hide,” Judai said. ‘I sure hope so,’ Yubel said before disappearing into fin air. ‘Just be careful, Judai….’ Judai sneakily walked to his duel spirit partner, who was starting to lose patience, before stopping. “Alright, partner,” he looked down at the small duel spirit with a trusting smile. “If you know I place I could hide then show me.” ‘Kuri, kuri!’ And just like that Judai followed Winged Kuriboh quietly in the night and the walk was much quicker than Judai had expected for his little friend only led him to staircase for a house just across the street. At first, Judai was confused and a tad bit annoyed with his little duel spirit buddy. “Partner, why did you leave me?” Judai looked down at him once again. ‘Kuri, kuri!’ Winged Kuriboh said to him angrily. ‘Maybe, you should listen to him, Judai,’ Yubel literally appeared magically once again. “I’m sorry, I just don’t see how leading us to a random house who probably already own by somebody’s else-“ ‘Rubi, rubi!’ Judai froze. He knew that voice too, but it was one that he hadn’t heard in a long time. A third duel spirit suddenly joined them and it through the wall of the house, and right of the back knew what the little purple see-through one was. “R-r-ruby C-carbuncle….?” Was all that Judai could muster to say at that moment. ‘Rubi rubi!’ the other little duel spirit jumped up and down happily. Winged Kuriboh couldn’t help but to be so happy to that he let out a great big, ‘Kuri, kuri!’ Judai couldn’t believe his own eyes and knew that could only mean one thing, but he still felt like he needed to say it out loud. “Then does that mean that…?”Before Judai could finish the sentence the front door of the house began to open. “Ruby, what are doing outside?” the person on the other side of the door said, but immediately stopped and stared as the door was completely swinged opened. It was Johan. Judai felt his heart skip a beat. “J-Judai?” the bluenette said in disbelief. “J-J-Johan….” Judai stuttered breathlessly and took a slight step back.‘Oh boy,’ Yubel said as they rolled her eyes. ‘I’m out of here.’ And just like that Yubel disappeared into thin air once again. “It has been so long, Judai….” It has been quite some time since the two guys have seen each other. The last time was when Judai came looking for Johan so he could give him back his Rainbow Dragon card when it was stolen by Paradox, but he only gave him back his card in a hotel and never saw where he lived. Somehow, Judai has forgotten that he lived here in Europe. How could have forgotten that Johan is Scandinavian all together too? This is what he gets for traveling all over the world to clear his head. The two guys just stood there for what felt like an eternity until both of their duel spirits were starting to lose patience and became angry. “Is it really you, Judai?” Johan said. “Y-yes,” Judai then bowed his head because he suddenly felt too ashamed to look at Johan in the eyes. “I’m sorry that I haven’t visit you in for so long, Johan….” “No, don’t do that to yourself, Judai,” Johan said sternly, his hand reaching for Judai until he stopped it and thought about pulling it back. “I’m just happy to see you again… that’s all.” There was another moment that was nothing but silence between them, but it didn’t last nearly as long as the last time. “Please, Judai, come in,” Johan smiled calmly but you can tell how happy the bluenette was. “Please….”Without a word Judai walked into Johan’s house as Johan scooted aside to give Judai more room. Judai tried his best to not let his sideways gaze at Johan linger for too long, and the two other duel spirits disappeared too. Judai looked for a bit around the house and what he saw at first was surprising and looked very fancy. It was nice. A very nice place to live, that’s for sure. Judai went to what he was pretty sure was the living room and stood in front of the couch in it. “I… I missed you, Judai….” Judai heard Johan say. Judai felt his heart skip another beat again, but he ignored it and might have really understood what it meant. “I-I m-missed you too, Johan….” That was indeed true. Judai did missed but doesn’t want to talk about how much he thinks about him…. “Please, sit down, Judai,” Johan insisted. “I want you to be as comfortable as you can be, Judai.” “Thanks….” Judai said, still trying to avoid looking at Johan and plumped onto the couch. It was hardly an appropriate time to be thinking about how good-looking Johan is now…. As Johan sat onto a chair on the other side of the living room and stared at Judai in concern. Judai was starting to feel so tired that slumped his head at the side of the couch for a bit being sitting up andgiving Johan once again.“You have no idea of how happy I am to see you, Judai!” Johan said. “Your Winged Kuriboh must have sensed that my Ruby Carbuncle nearby. Are you… happy to see me, Judai…?” “I am glad to see you, Johan,” Judai stated firmly.“Like I am so glad to see you again, Johan…. I just have a lot of my mind right now….” The bluenette frowned. “Do you care about sharing it with me?” Judai thought about it for a second and he knew that Yubel would actually to find people to help out if they knew, but Judai didn't want to worry Johan now...Judai didn’t want to tell Johan about Bjorn and his gang… and Judai especially didn’t want to tell Johan that Bjorn wanted Judai in more ways than one…. Who knows what would happen if Johan ever did meet him if he also knows that…. Judai wouldn’t be surprised that it would lead to a bloodbath…. He knew that Johan would protect him no matter what, so Judai thought it was best to keep him in the dark about some things…. Oh, ever since he fused his soul with Yubel’s he actually gained the ability to make duel monsters come out of their cards and actually become real and that means he could also make their powers actually destroy too. That kind of power was seen to be extremely useful to bad people and it that ability is very useful for Judai when he needs to get out of a dangerous situation and help other people in them too, but when he told the wrong people about his ability, and they have been after ever since…. It has been about a year now since Bjon and his thugs began stalking Judai…. “No, Johan….” Judai answered. “Not now…. I am feeling way too dizzy and tired right now…. You wouldn’t believe what I went through tonight…. I think I just need to rest right now....” Judai was a bit worried that Johan would make him tell him what wrong right is there and then, but Judai knew that Johan would never do that, and that exactly what Johan did. “Well, it is late at night,” Johan said, but he still sounded a little worried. “And there is actually a spare room in this house, and you can tell me when you’re ready, Judai….” “Thanks….” Judai said sheepishly. “Anytime, Judai….” Johan gave a smile that literally warmed Judai’s heart right up. When Johan was leading to the spare room Judai became so dizzy that he almost fell to the floor, but Johan caught him in the nick of time. “Wow, I got you.” Johan said patiently. Judai realized that he was blushing at that moment. “Thank you, Johan….” Judai leaned into his touch. “I think I really do just need rest now….” Johan smiled again but didn’t say anything as he helped Judai walked to the bedroom. “I think I walk to the bed by myself now, Johan.” Judai patted a small part of Johan’s chest gently. “Alright, if there is you need anything,” Johan said calmly and carefully let Judai go until he was standing again. “Please, don’t be afraid to ask me, okay?” And then Johan left for his room soon after that. Yubel appeared once again at Judai’s side. Their arms folded once again but this time they looked annoyed and tired. “Looks like we finally found a safe place to stay,” Judai said. “And I bet Johan would let us stay as long as we want.Judai sighed happily, and if you look closely at him, you can see that he looked a bit lovestruck too. “And it’s nice to see Johan again….” He said peacefully. Yubel stayed silent for a few moments even when Judai went to sat onto the bed of the room but didn’t try to disappear yet and it made Judai wonder if there was something else on the duel spirit’s mind. ‘You know, Judai,’ Yubel suddenly said. ‘You still haven’t answered my question.’ Judai blinked at the duel spirit in confusion. “What question?” Yubel stared at Judai in annoyance. ‘You know,’ Yubel rolled their eyes again. ‘When I asked you if the love that you had for me now belonged to Johan now. Seriously, Judai? What did you think I meant?’ Judai froze and immediately turned pale. He has been a while since he thought about that, and the last time he thought about that was about six months ago. Now all the memory of that happening came flooding back into Judai’s head when we fused his Neos card with Johan’s Rainbow Dragon’s card together into Rainbow Neos. That was when Yubel asked him that question….Now it felt like it happened only yesterday…. In all honesty, Judai had hoped that Yubel would never bring it up again, but he knew deep down that couldn’t be forever. He knew that they would have someday, and I guess today is the day. “Y-y-yes, well….” Judai stuttered nervously. He had a feeling that he should respond to something quickly, but he just couldn’t figure out what to say. I mean, come on he was twenty-two now. He should be good at giving an answer now, should he? Just why he couldn’t just say ‘no’ already! Why didn’t just say ‘no’ when she first asked him that question or when he found out that he and Yubel were lovers in their past lives? Just why he can’t just say ‘no’ to the question!?Why…? Judai looked down at the floor in frustration. Just why? Luckily, it was Yubel was the one that broke the ice. ‘You don’t have to answer it now.’ Yubel reassured him. Judai quickly looked up at the duel spirit in shock just right after they said that. “W-why not?”Yubel looked at Judai like he was an idiot, and maybe he is one.The duel spirit leaned forward until they was right up at Judai’s face before replying to him. ‘Because I already know the answer and I reassure you, Judai, that I am okay with it now.’
